MCO: Government to reopen selected business sectors

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced that the government is allowing the following sectors to operate during the third phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO) from 15 to 28 April 2020:

✔️Automotive industry

✔️Machinery and equipment industry

✔️Aerospace industry

✔️Construction projects and services related to construction works

✔️Science, professional and technical services, including R&D (services incidental to legal practice, services incidental to oil and gas, R&D activities related to COVID-19, and testing labs for the sectors allowed to operate)

✔️Social health services including registered traditional and complementary medicine (TCM) practitioners

✔️Hardware shops, electrical and electronic (E&E) shops and optometrists in the wholesale and retail industry

✔️Barber shops (offering haircuts only)

✔️Laundry services (only those offering full-service and does not include self-service laundrettes)

⚠️⚠️The additional permitted sectors are required to submit their applications to MITI online at miti.gov.my starting on 13 April 2020 from 9.00 a.m.
