Conditional Movement Control Order be extended to 9 June 2020

Our Prime Minister announced that starting 4 May 2020, almost all industries and businesses would be allowed to re-open with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures enforced by authorities and guidelines provided by WHO (Conditional Movement Control Order) (CMCO).

HOWEVER, gathering at large is still not allowed, for example, business or activities that involved the gathering of many where social distancing is hard to manage (i.e. cinema, karaoke, theme parks, Ramadan bazaars, carnival sales, conferences or exhibition).

The CMCO is scheduled to expire on 12 May 2020 and now is further extended to 9 June 2020.

The list of sectors/activities not allowed to operate is appended below.

Below are the matters which the business owners may want to know during CMCO:

1️⃣ All businesses allowed to operate during CMCO (business does not fall within the list of sectors/activities not allowed to operate) can resume operations provided they adhere to SOPs set by the authorities.

2️⃣ All businesses allowed to operate can submit notification to MITI declaring company information at https://notification.miti.gov.my/login on a voluntary basis;

3️⃣ Daily report pertaining to the status of compliance with SOP for one operating workplace to be submitted through http://survey.dosh.gov.my/laporanhariancovid19 which is effective from 4 May 2020 to 12 May 2020, is expected to be extended to 9 June 2020.

4️⃣ The existing rules and SOPs and lists of sectors which are allowed to operate are expected to be changed from time to time.

5️⃣ Socso (Perkeso) is expected to continue to provide free Covid-19 tests for its members under Prihatin Screening Programme (PSP).

6️⃣ The restrictions on interstate travel still apply.
